PV: Enertronica wins contract in Eritrea

25 October, 2014

Enertronica, a company operating in the field of renewable energy and energy conservation in the design and manufacture of electromechanical systems, announces that, as leader of the temporary joint venture with the company Rossi Impianti Srl, was awarded the design and construction of an innovative photovoltaic system with energy storage by batteries to be carried out in Eritrea. The plant, commissioned directly by the Eritrean government and financed by the EU, is in fact a small Smart Grid with which, thanks to its contemporary and coordinated photovoltaics, batteries, diesel generators and an intelligent interface to the national grid of electricity, are unable to ensure continuity with the energy needs of the training center and research ERCOE (Eritrean Centre for Organisational Excellence). The contract, whose value is approximately EUR 1 million, will be realized in 2015.

CEO Enertronica SpA, ing. Stefano Plocco, commented: "Enertronica continues to demonstrate design skills and operating in areas of high technology and innovation. In the particular case, the contract is extremely important because it represents a first step in a highly innovative sector and that are reasonably expected major developments, not only from the African market, but also from the European one. The field accumulation of electrical energy, and smart grids in general, may result in a decisive change in the use of renewable energy sources can not be planned and Enertronica is a candidate to be a player in the sector. Another source of great satisfaction is dictated by the fact that it has come to this success through a small example of "network firm" in collaboration with the company Rossi Appliances and thanks to the support of Unindustria.
